We’re Richard and Francis, founders of Kina Africa Expeditions and we’re proud to say that this is more than just a safari company. It’s a lifelong dream born from the red hills, crater lakes, and rich wildlife of our home in Fort Portal, western Uganda.
As children, we grew up surrounded by the wonders of nature, hiking through banana fields with our mothers, enjoying picnic lunches in the hills, and waving at safari jeeps that passed our school. Sometimes, local guides would visit to teach us about wildlife conservation and eco-tourism, sparking something in us that never left. We told ourselves: “One day, we’ll become safari guides and start our own company.”
Today, that childhood dream is alive and you’re part of the story.

We are certified in Tourism and Hotel Management and licensed as professional guides through the Uganda Wildlife Authority. With nearly 9 years of hands on experience, we’ve led guests through gorilla treks, chimpanzee tracking, Big Five safaris, and rich cultural experiences always with safety, honesty, and heart.
